That'd be IF I missed 'em.
Which I don't.

Any chance of more Thing stories? That was the best. Talk about knowing what makes a character tick.

Is that even collected anywhere?

Slott's Thing and She-Hulk are my favorite things he's written.

Cool.

Thing was the best. Wasn't it canceled mid-run? Shame.

Yeah it was cancelled after #8, I think.

#3 and #2 respectively. The best is still Arkham Asylum Living Hell. I own a page of it.

I loved me some She Hulk and Thing when they were coming out (Thing was certainly cancelled earlier than expected, but that poker issue was a pretty great way to go out), but I think some of Slott's stuff the last couple years has been better- he really brought it for a couple of those Martin-drawn issues. I'd like to see him do another fun "Marvel-y" book starring a character with fewer editorial strings, but I don't think the current market would support it even if he had the time.

Really? You mean that Peter was able to finallyget an actual steadily paying job doing something that not everyone with a cell phone camera can do just as well or that would not require to embarrass himself trying to look hip and cool in front of younger students?

This next part is speaking as a high school English teacher so my opinions are both valid (I know what I'm talking about) yet biased (I liked the idea but it couldn't realistically work)...

Unless the bad guys are always attacking either near the school or the school itself Peter running off across town when he should be molding young minds isn't realistic. Now I know these are comics where a guy is bitten by a spider and gains powers... but Spidey has always been a more 'realistic' comic and Peter leaving kids alone just isn't in his character.

Agreed. I love the idea of him as a teacher, but it just doesn't work for me storywise.

I also like that he is being smarter than your average bear. Pete's not just a geek, he invented his eyepieces, web shooters and spider tracers. Maybe he shouldn't be as smart as Richards or Stark all the time, but he should be able to stand with them and not be like... us...

But I like ASM under Slott.

We did get into an argument ages ago on Newsarama over his Thing series (which I didn't like at all) but I don't think either one of us got served by the other.

I'll say this: I've always hated Spider-man. Reading about a guy who can't succeed in life or pay his rent is obnoxious when I can't succeed in life or pay my rent.

Big Time Spider-man has managed to chuck all of that out the window. The Big Time Ultimate Collection that was put out a few months back might be my favorite purchase I've made all year. "No One Dies" is definitely up there in my top Spider-man stories.

But, as everyone pointed out, all of these stories could have happened with the marriage intact.

Not any of the ones with Carlie Cooper.

Good thing I don't have to pay the rent... Or I'd be homeless now.
