Hollywood Officially Out of Ideas, Bloodstrike in Movie Development

Hollywood is officially out of ideas as Rob Liefeld's Bloodstrike is being adapted for film.

In a sign that surely predates the Mayan Apocalypse, Adi Shankar’s 1984 Private Defense Contractors announced that it would adapt Rob Liefeld's Bloodstrike series into a movie.  The Image series involves guns, pouches and totally generic EXTREME! characters.

On a related note, Variety reported that Hollywood is officially out of things to adapt and that the Liefeld series is literally the only thing that hadn't been touched by some studio in the last twenty years.  Hollywood analysts reacted to the news with a sense of resignation.  "You have to understand," said one unnamed fictional insider.  "We've been scraping the bottom of the barrel for a while now.  Most people around here have realized that there's simply no new ideas left for Hollywood to adapt."

Some even believe that Bloodstrike will actually kill Hollywood in the same way that Image pushed the comic book industry to ruin.  "We're probably looking at a bunch of unoriginal, tired stories that increasingly rely on cheap stunts like 3-D to push sales," said the same analyst.  "Hell, Bloodstrike is really a welcome angel of death at this point. It's probably better the industry get killed off now then have to sit through a remake of Rush Hour 2."

No word on whether the movie will feature digitally enhanced chests and guns or whether the movie would be shot to totally cut out feet out of frame.  We reached out to Rob Liefeld for comment, but he was too busy putting on a new pair of Levi jeans to care.

The new Bloodstrike series has been kind of fun. I gave all of the Extreme relaunches a try (yes even Youngblood)

They need Tarantino to direct this. Especially if Rob gets to draw the story boards
