The October issue of Shogakukan's Betsucomi shōjo magazine is announcing on Thursday that Hinako Ashihara's Piece manga is getting adapted as a live-action television series.
The story begins a few years after high school graduation, when the main character Mizuho receives an unexpected phone call. She learns of the passing of a high school classmate named Haruka Origuchi. Haruka was a plain girl who did not draw attention, but Mizuho discovers to her shock that Haruka was pregnant during high school. Now, Haruka's mother wants Mizuho's help in finding the father of Haruka's unborn child.
Priced at $49.97 SRP, this 6-disc set from Shout! will 1140 minutes, and with that running time we presume (we could be mistaken!) that it will have all 49 episodes that were produced...including the "banned" 12th episode, "From Another Planet with Love" (a.k.a. "Crystallized Corpusels"). The reason for the ban was because the episode featured aliens sickened by radiation, which would be considered insensitive to Japanese who were affected by the atomic bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. However, that episode did air in overseas markets, including - reportedly, in any case - on TNT in the USA during the mid-90s. So it seems like it should be expected on this release.
The new live-action GTO television series starring EXILE dance/vocal group member Akira just ended on Tuesday, but a 150-minute special will air on October 2 at 9:00 p.m. In the tentatively titled "GTO 2-Jikan-Han Special" (GTO 2.5-Hour Special), Akira will reprise his role as Onizuka, a former gang member who becomes an unorthodox teacher. Several months after the story in the television series, Onizuka will confront a corrupt politician to protect a youth home in danger of being shut down.

Cool. I was pretty against the show when the info was coming out. I saw the first episode and thought "wtf" and "somehow this is charming". Ended up liking the show a lot. still haven't seen the final episode.
Jyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (獣電戦隊キョウリュウジャー)! Trademarks for what seems to be next Super Sentai series seems to be have registered under the ID 2012-65209! Jyuden consists of the two kanji characters, beast and electricity, while kyoryu means dinosaur. So the next Sentai series is most likely another dinosaur based show.
