Mark Millar Reveals X-Men: Day of Future Past Villain

Mark Millar Reveals X-Men: Day of Future Past Villain

At least one of the movie's antagonists will be familiar to fans of the classic X-Men story.

Source: SFX Magazine

Mark Millar all but spoiled the presence of a popular set of X-Men villains in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past movie.  In an interview with SFX Magazine, Millar mentions that the upcoming movie will have "robots" in the movie, referring to the Sentinels, the mutant-hunting robots that frequently fight the X-Men in the comic books.

The Sentinels were originally set to be featured in X3: The Last Stand, but were scrapped when Bryan Singer left the X-Men franchise.  However, a Sentinel did make a cameo in the movie, getting decapitated by Wolverine off-screen during a Danger Room training sequence.

With the Sentinels appearing in the film, I'm wondering if the "Days of Future Past" movie will closely follow the original comic book, which included the deaths of many of the X-Men (albeit in a possible future).  I know I would plunk down all my money to watch Wolverine get disintegrated over and over again, so here's to hoping that Millar can make that happen.

Cool. I was really disappointed we didn't see more of one in that X3 sequence.

 Still, that Danger Room scene was the best part. Other than "I'm the Juggernaut bitch!" of course.

I'll never understand why they did that cheapo sentinel copout in X3, it just didn't seem like it was worth the effort on the filmmaker's part, and it came across as just obnoxious.

Overdone easter egg that managed to allow the film to screw up both the Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past.

I'm going to assume we might be seeing Bastion or Nimrod in this too? After all if they really want to play the Terminator aspect that be a good way to do it.

That's what I was thinking too. Chances are however, they might put Master Mold in the film instead and we also might see Simon Bolivar Trask, Henry Peter Gyrich, Graydon Creed and William Stryker as well.

I don't remember seeing a Sentinel in X3.

Days of future past is one of my favorite X-stories. Bring on the apocalyptic future.
