Stephanie Browns Returns in New DC Series

There's a few catches involved, but this is a real story.

Source: DC Comics

Stephanie Brown and Cassie Cain are back and they're being illustrated by Dustin Nguyen!  Does this sound too good to be true?  Well, that's because it is...sorta.

Batman: L'il Gotham is a new series of digital first specials created by Nguyen and Derek Fridolfs.  The series is a spinoff of a one-shot by the two and will release new issues on Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.  The cover, released by DC, shows both Cain and Brown in their pre-New 52 outfits.

While the series is an out of continuity take on the Batfamily, L'il Gotham could be the first new appearances of the two "toxic" characters in over a year.  The series will be released tomorrow on Comixology.

Bought. Though damn... I didn't realize the damage the Nu52 did to the Batman Books until looking at that group shot. GEEZ.

#6, Steph as well plus she was in the Leviathan Strikes one-shot. Since the Nu52 relaunch there was a Hong Kong operative mentioned in #0 and we saw a Cass villain (Mad Dog) just in the last issue. Though no Cass. Her and Steph wiped clean from the Nu52 for now. I mean there is hearsay that they were supposed to appear in the last issue but editorial blocked Morrison. SUPPOSEDLY.

Sorry, but Dustin is far too good for this kind of story.

So is Skottie Young on the books he does at Marvel, but you know what they must like doing them since no one is putting a gun to their head to do the work.

well seeing as how its his story, i don't see how he'd be too good for it. he's been doing the Lil' Batman stuff for a while this is just the first time DC is officially publishing it.

Yeah, I believe it was with Batgirl and a few pin-ups and then it moved into some shorts in the Annuals.

See I must be one of the few who does not miss JPV. The character served his purpose, similar to the above craved after Batgirl's but I just do not need to see him again. I have no problems if he ever does return or the fans who want him back.

To each his own, I guess. I would take JPV over Michael Lane or Calvin Rose who nobody cares about even less though.

One of the A-Babies or X-Babies will kill Brown off to rid DC of that toxicity.
