First Look at Fraction and Allred's FF#1 from Marvel

Marvel has sent us a first look at the amazing Mike Allred art from FF #1!

Normally, we here at The Outhouse would think of something snarky to say before presenting this preview of FF#1 by Matt Fraction and Mike Allred... but looking at the gorgeous art here, we just don't have it in us. Marvel, we're still not ready to forget about the attrocity that was Avengers vs. X-Men... but if you keep putting out art like this, maybe, just maybe, we can learn to forgive.

Here's the press release:

Marvel NOW! – FF #1 First Look!

Marvel is pleased to present your first look at FF #1, kicking off the all-new ongoing series from the blockbuster creative team of writer Matt Fraction and artist Michael Allred! With the Fantastic Four embarking on an epic journey, an all-new substitute Four, handpicked by original members – Ant-Man, She-Hulk, Medusa, and Miss Thing – stand ready to guard and protect Earth and the Future Foundation for four minutes! What could possibly go wrong?

As part of Marvel NOW!, FF joins a number of titles that will take the Marvel Universe in an exciting all-new direction, as the industry’s top creators join the top Super Heroes to deliver all-new ongoing series, great for new and lapsed readers alike!

Each issue of Fantastic Four features special augmented reality content available exclusive through the Marvel AR app – including cover recaps, behind the scenes features and more that add value to your reading experience at no additional cost.

An all-new direction! All-new adventures! This is FF NOW!

Meh. The art is interesting but the characters bore me.

I'm trying this. Fraction is hit or miss with me, but I like Allred and She-Hulk's one of my favorite characters.

I often like Allred, but this isn't working for me. The photoshopped nametags are absurd, too.

Yeah - I looked at that and wondered what the hell he was thinking?

They look horrible. Val's too cool for name-tags, too.

I usually like Mike Allred's stuff, but those panels aren't doing anything for me.

This looks fucking awesome.

Good Fraction writing, from the looks of it. And Allred is always great.

This might be my most anticipated NOW book.

For all the hate Fraction gets..

The Immortal Iron Fist - amazing
The Order - really good
Iron Man (except Detroit Steel arc :smt011 ) - made me care about Iron Man for the first time in a long time, if ever
Hawkeye - amazing

Pretty solid bunch of good-to-great titles. Sure his X-Men was boring, and his Thor was all over the place, and I won't even get into PWJ or Fear Itself..

But put him on a book with a great hook, or quirky characters.. the guy knocks it out of the park more often than not.

The preview in the free Marvel NOW! preview issue for FF was great. I really look forward to this. Seems like a book he could really bring some of his Casanova-type stuff into the MU.
