Rumor: Del Toro to Make Justice League Dark Movie?

Rumors are swirling that Guillermo del Toro plans to make a DC Comics team movie with Deadman, Constantine, Swamp Thing, Etrigan, and other DC supernatural characters!

Source: Latino Review

Latino Review, the site that got in trouble a few months ago for posting leaked Guardians of the Galaxy news, just posted a delicious serving of movie rumors, and amongst them is this morsel that will be of particular interest to us comic book geeks: a Guillermo del Toro DC comics movie called Heaven Sent that teams some of DC's greatest supernatural characters. Basically, del Toro wants to make the DC supernatural version of The Avengers, and Warner Bros. wants to let him do it. Here's what LR had to say:

Called HEAVEN SENT he is combining all the magical beings from DC Comics in one epic adventure. Deadman, The Spectre, Swamp Thing, Constantine Hellblazer, Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Zatara, and Sargon as well as Etrigan the Demon will team up to no doubt save us from the Stay Puft Marshmallow man. Now this one is a ways away, but Warner’s lawyers have been working every night trying to clear the rights to all these characters.

This is a leak or a rumor or whatever you want to call it, but Latino Review is usually pretty accurate. Del Toro has long been attached to a Deadman movie, so let's enjoy the speculation about how potentially awesome this could be before Warner has a chance to fuck it all up and make another Green Lantern.

This is great news. I really feel they've slept on Constantine cuz that movie with Keenu Reeves (F*ck The Spelling) was good and deserved a sequel or multiple sequels. I just hope they bring the actor back to play the roll again. i dont want a new actor. he was fine.

Actually, it sounds more like it gonna be based on Alan Moore's "American Gothic" storyline in Swamp Thing.

Would be fun, but this is definitely a "I'll believe it when I see it happen" type of rumor.

Better Del Toro than Ben Affleck touching the JLA franchise film-wise.

I have a strong feeling that he has no idea about the source material.

lol your exactly right. I was 12 or 13 when it came out and didn't even know he was a DC character back then. on the commercial I saw Neo killin monsters & demons with guns and I was like 'cOOL i wanna see that shit" it wasn't until several years later I found out lol. but I do remember liking the movie alot thats why I don't want them to change the actor. I'm already used to him & his coolness lol. even though he's an emotionless actor.

was it that you didn't like the movie or the actor or both? maybe u didn't like the way they portrayed the character Constantine

I don't even find this remotely interesting, other than Del Toro being involved. Now if you've got Enchantress and Black Orchid involved.. maybe, then.
