Rumors are breaking on Disney's next step in its quest toward world domination.
Source: MTV Geek MTV Geek's "Geek Spy" is reporting that top level executives at Walt Disney Company and Hasbro are currently in talks for Disney to acquire Hasbro. Coming only a week after news that Disney had purchased Lucasfilm, and with it the rights to Star Wars, a Hasbro acquisition would give Disney the rights to G.I. Joe, Transformers, Dungeons and Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and numerous other properties, though some properties, like G.I. Joe, have movie rights tied up at Paramount. It would also give Disney control of Hasbro's The Hub animated television network, which shows the Outhouse favorite My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic cartoon.
Let us repeat that. Disney would own not just Star Wars, but also My Little Pony.
Ponies. My god.
The talks are supposedly in the very earliest stages, and it could be months or even years before anything solid takes place, but the Lucasfilm deal did come from seemingly out of nowhere to shock and excite fanboys around the world.
MTV Geek themselves are telling readers to take the rumors with a grain of salt, but here at The Outhouse we prefer wild and rampant speculation, so please proceed to freak the fuck out about all of this at your earliest convenience.
