Kung fu flick by Wong Kar-Wai. There is nothing else we need to say.
It's always a great, or at least, visually stunning, day when a new Wong Kar-Wai film comes out. The writer/director behind such luminary films as In the Mood for Love, Chungking Express, and 2046 is simply one of the finer filmmakers to come out of world cinema in the last twenty years (let's all just forget about My Blueberry Nights). Now, he has what appears to be a pretty wonderful looking kung fu flick that's due out in China in December. More than just any kung fu flick, though, The Grandmasters is billed as a story based on the life of martial arts grandmaster Yip Man, who apparently lived a pretty badass life. Wong also teams up again with Tony Leung, as well as with Zhang Ziyi and Song Hye-kyo. It looks awesome, but of course it does. It's Wong Kar-Wai.Here's hoping for an international release date sometime soon.
