Newsarama announced that Fabian Nicieza will take over as Batwing writer, which might be news, but we're not sure, since no one gives a crap about Batwing.
Source: Newsarama Newsarama has an interview up with Fabian Nicieza, co-creator of Deadpool, which talks about Nicieza taking over the writing chores on Batwing. Nicieza will take over the book with Batwing #15 in December. Now, it's entirely possible that DC announced this months ago, perhaps even in their solicitations, but nobody knows for sure because Batwing, which is, to our understanding, a book about a flying African Batman, which actually makes the concept sound more interesting than it really is, is somewhere between numbers 50-52 on the list of Nu52 books people give a crap about.
Nicieza will spend issue #15 wrapping up former writer Judd Winnick's storylines before launching his own new plot in January that focuses on corruption in the police force. He promises that his run on the book will keep the character in Africa, for the most part, a change from the first year's worth of stories, where, as we learned by reading the interview, Batwing traveled a lot.
This marks the third official "thing" we know about Batwing. He is black. He knows Batman. He traveled a lot in the past year. We are smart.
Fabian Nicieza will be joined by artist Fabrizio Fiorentino, and The Outhouse will give you $1000 if you can correctly pronounce the names of both members of this creative team, or at least we would, if we had $1000. Actually, maybe you should give us $1000 dollars. We need the money.
Head over to Newsarama to read the full interview, which contains a ton of highly interesting information to Batwing's three fans as well as the much larger fanbase of the lovely and talented Vaneta Rogers, who conducted the interview.
