Half a really really great movie. The second half is the best Bond movie to date (going by my not being a Bond fan until the Craig movies) The first half was boring me, though. The cold open/action sequence was fucking great, however. Javier Bardem was also really good in it. I've seen complaints that he was too campy, but that's partly what I loved about his character. He was so over the top, but vicious and brutal at the same time.. kind of Joker-ish, now that I think about it. And his cyanide-maimed face was gross. And Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw as the new M and Q, respectively, are also great additions to the movie/franchise. I look forward to the next two (they're still being filmed together as one story, right?) Overall, I think Casino Royale was a stronger film but this is very close. I definitely saw the "Dark Knight" of the franchise comparisons. Mendes is a great director, who doesn't get anywhere near the mainstream love he should. |

"Go ahead, do it! Eject me! See if I care!" Bardem was definitely the right type of camp. His initial scene with Bond and the "seduction" was brilliant. His scenes with M were also well done, if a bit awkward. Great fight scenes throughout, but the one on the Hong Kong skyrise was easily the best. I'm looking forward to this new, fresh, yet more traditional, direction of the franchise. From Mr. Steed to M. Fiennes has come full circle. |

Yeah, I heard them and then I heard elsewhere that it wasn't happening. |

Yeah. I suppose Craig wouldn't necessarily know. |

Lots of action and corney lines (I love both!). Pretty fun time at the cinema! |
