I think Image is the pinnacle publisher is when it comes to creator own publishers, and no disrespect to IDW and BOOM!. I feel that Image has a business model that allows both creators and them benifit if a book is a success at the published side, where as the creator him/herself would do what is necessary to take their book to other media outlets.

Look at Chew, a successful book from Image that the company can hang their hat on along with Walking Dead, but look at what John Layman has done to move the book beyond, Toys, a TV series coming to Showtime that is all him. Image just gave him the outlet to put his book to the comic reading public because they have the resources to help guide him in the right direction, also keep in mind that more that 90% of the a books marketing comes from the creator than the publisher in creator own comics.

If there weren't a string of successes you'd have a point, but, there are, and you don't :D

So is this thread just a stinging indictment of everything The Bass has ever posted? :)

Agree, and those sales are more to do with Kirkman and his staff than Image PR.

Sadly Image isn't what it once was in the 90's when they were much bigger. It sucked that most of the original creators left as the company was never the same afterwards.

Fixed that for you.

Image is putting out those three amazing books, but there are many others that I'd try if only I had the money. Near Death, Point of Impact, the Jake Ellis books, Glory, Prophet...

The same happens to me, I have a limited budget and Image is putting out so many good things that I just can't buy everything.
