Element Lad and Chemical Kid track down the mercenaries that injured Cosmic Boy

Seriously though, Kollins' art sucks. It's way too one-dimensional. Can't DC find someone who is more of a Perez-Grell style artist for Legion? If it is going for the nostalgia trip, work on the parts that made Legion successful in the past.

Scott Kollins is one of the best artists working on comics today and is easily one of the best flash artists of the last 20 years.

Dude acts like the book doesn't have any problems. He thinks every Legion fan should be a kool-aid drinker like him. I can point to reasons why I have problems with the book, or that sales are a disaster, and changes need to be made in the book's overall direction. I don't think I've ever personally attacked him once on the board. But he can't seem to do the same. Or make logical defenses on his point of view.

Just because an artist's style works on one book, it doesn't mean it will work on another. His art looks too flat and cartoonish here. Worse he doesn't seem to have a vision for the 31st century that complements his style. It looks too generic and dull.

Nac the problem isn't with the fucking creative team. I'm trying to be nice here but at the end of the day:

No one gives a shit about the Legion anymore, it's really that simple.

You could be Van Sciver or Johns on the book and it still wouldn't sell or get much interest. :smt102

Johns got people to buy Aquaman, for crying out loud!

Nobody gave a $#!t about any Swamp Thing before Alan Moore came along, either. (And he wasn't quite a megastar at the time when he started on the book, either.

Not to bring the threeboot up, but it was a middle-level selling book before Meltzer and Johns brought the old team "back" in the Lightning Saga. The current book's sales are weaker now then they were then.

I think there's a place for a Legion book, it just needs to be done right, and DC needs to stick with it instead of changing course when it didn't really have to.

Yes but you know what else that legion had going for it?

The fucking Justice League and the Justice Society helping sell it. And looking back at the stuff Meltzer and Johns wrote...it doesn't hold up, at all.

No one is arguing that they don't want it to succeed, the just don't give a shit about your terminology or sales numbers. I don't get how you can't see that.

I've pretty much agreed wholeheartedly with Nacireman on LSH but I've got to say (and the images in this post are the first I've seen of Kolins LSH) that Kolins art looks fantastic. He is one of those artists I'll buy pretty much anything they do.
Had just recently dropped LSH but I think I'll be picking it up again....
