A new 'Man of Steel' trailer will be hitting theaters with the release of 'The Hobbit', proving wrong doubters who thought that it would be impossible to make a worse Superman movie than Superman Returns.
Source: MTV Geek One of the biggest complaints about Superman Returns, the failed Superman relaunch from a few years ago that featured Superman lifting boulders for two hours straight, was that the movie featured too much action. Addressing these concerns, Warner Bros. released a teaser trailer for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel earlier this year, which features Clark Kent sailing and hitchhiking for 95% of the trailer while a narrator drones on about role models and ideals.
"Blah blah blah blah," says the narrator over scenes of clothes drying on a line outside a house in Kansas set to the music of Gheorghe Zamfir, master of the pan flute. "Blah blah blah blah blah."
Finally, at the end of the trailer, we see Superman flying through the clouds, breaking the sound barrier.
"Yeah, nerds complained about Watchmen," Snyder probably told friends confidentially. "How do you like me now, bitches?"
Well played, Zack Snyder. Well played.
Now, the company has announced that a new trailer will be hitting theaters this December, with the release of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey". Why a trailer being released is news, we can't say, but it did give us the opportunity to make a Zamfir: Master of the Pan Flute reference, so hey, we'll take what we can get.
Man of Steel will hit theaters on June 14, 2013, and you can see the new trailer December 14th if you are attending 'The Hobbit' or know what youtube is.
