Bleeding Cool is reporting on the latest nail in DC's coffin.
Source: Bleeding Cool Bleeding Cool reported yesterday that DC Comics had scheduled a series of meetings with employees and promptly began to stir speculation that the company was heading towards a seismic change. Today, the website is reporting exactly what that change entails: a new voice mail system.
That's right, Bleeding Cool is reporting that DC Comics has changed its voice mail system. Rich Johnston, Bleeding Cool's chief reporter and office message expert, reports that the company has shifted from personalized pre-recorded voice mail greetings to a standardized message. Johnston adds sadly that this is the end of an era for DC, an era in which Karen Berger ran the Vertigo imprint and editors had free reign over their voice mail greeting messages.
We expect Marvel will change their voice mail service a year from now after seeing DC's success with the new system.
Stay tuned to Bleeding Cool for future articles such as "DC Comics Switches Office Suppliers", "DC Comics Changes Christmas Party Location" and "DC Comics Gets Dell Computers", all of which laced with an undercurrent of impending doom. We can't wait to see what other tidbits this slow news day brings. Will Newsarama release a somewhat relevant Top Ten List? Will CBR give another Marvel book 4 stars? Will the Beat post pictures of kittens? Only. Time. Will. Tell.
