The Outhouse makes a bold prediction for the comic industry in 2013.
Source: Are Team 7 And Sword And Sorcery On The Chopping Block Already? Outhouse Person of the Year Nominee and scallywag Ricch Johnston over at Bleeding Cool has predicted the doom of two new DC books, Sword of Sorcery and Team 7. These predictions, of course, are setups for when the books are canceled, which is the eventual fate for most books not starring Batman, Superman, or Wolverine in the modern comic book industry. Oh, they may last for a good 30 to 50 issues before getting canned, but, eventually, it will happen. By making the prediction now, Johnston, our generation's Nostradomus, or, at least, our generation's Miss Cleo, can claim to have been right all along when the inevitable occurs.
The Outhouse, never to be outdone, has decided to make an even bolder prediction for 2013. All books with low sales will be canceled. We aren't just talking about DC books either. Marvel, Image, Dark Horse... all books at all companies which do not sell will will be canned. As the first website to break this story, The Outhouse demands that all other websites recognize our precognitive genius throughout the year whenever a book is canceled.
Of course, we will be sure to remind you, when a book is canceled in 2013, that you heard about it here first. Patting ourselves on the back is a staple of comic book journalism that The Outhouse promises to stay true to, mostly because it is easier to uphold than integrity, fact checking, or responsibility.
The Outhouse in 2013: where everything else takes a back seat to self-aggrandizement.
