Levitz Discusses Power Girl and Huntress

Both women to connect with the mainstream DC Universe characters

Source: Newsarama

In an interview with Newsarama, writer Paul Levitz discusses what's in store for  Power Girl and Huntress.

Huntress recently met, fought, then teamed up with, Damian Wayne, her alternate-half-brother in Worlds' Finest #s 6 and 7. According to Levitz, there will be more interaction between the two displaced heroes and the characters of the main DCU. Logically, more opportunities will present themselves the longer they are stranded on the main DC Earth and as more things happen.

There are ideas of where things are heading. A lot will depend on how the rest of the DC Universe moves in the time to come. The way the DC Universe is constructed these days, lots of the big stories move from one book or one character to another, and you want to keep the flexibility to participate in all that.

While Huntress seems to have resigned herself to her fate of being stranded on the main DCU Earth, Power Girl continues to search for a way for both of them to get back home. That focus is driven by Kara's view that she would be probably the most powerful character on Earth-2 if she was back there. She also has the responsibility that Earth-2 Kal was training her for. She was supposed to have been ready to take over for that Superman. He's dead. She's not able to be there to do her job.

Both Levitz and James Robinson, writer on Earth 2, stay in touch, so they are aware of the stories and plots that both are building and to make sure that each writer's stories stay relative to what the other is  doing.

Levitz also teased that the February issue will be very cool, promising a little bit of special fun. He hopes it's one that people will notice and care about. And this issue will also followup on the mysteries hinted at so far regarding radiation survival and the differences between this earth and Earth-2. We will learn things in this issue that tie back to issue #1.

Below are the covers to Worlds' Finest #8 and #10.

Huntress, no complaints. Power Girl? If it ain't broken, don't fix it. You can't improve on perfection, and sorry, her classic look is perfection.
