If I can interest at least 30 people into getting a 40'x27' inch movie poster sized print of this piece for $70.00 dollars including shipping, I'll run off that small amount, offset printed, Aquos coating on professional 100lbs paper stock. Shoot me an email at dustyabell@yahoo.com if you would like one, and I'll see if we can run off a small, limited amount of them to hang on the wall, the way it's meant to be seen!

I don't know if internet answers are trustworthy...

Google develops computer inspired by Star Trek

A computer interface that can supply answers to users without requiring them to dig their phones out of their pockets or tap away at a keyboard is being developed by Google.

Amit Singhal, Google vice-president and senior search engineer, said that the company has been inspired by sci-fi series Star Trek to develop the "ubiquitous computing" concept, where gadgets woven into users' daily lives seamlessly respond to questions.

"What if I ask a question and the answer pops up, on my Google Glasses or on the TV or maybe even on the family refrigerator?" he said.

"Then we can go on with the conversation. It will make the conversation richer."

Nice. I thought the new Trek seemed more Apple-themed, though.

Well much of the signage was designed with a Mac (Mike Okuda used one)...

Anyone have any crazy non-Khan theories about this John Harrison?

Pretty boring promo.

Star Trek Into Darkness Launches Viral Campaign

According to First Showing, several astute Trekkers have pored through the new feature trailer frame-by-frame and picked out a URL flashing on one of the Enterprise monitors at the 1:07 mark, which asks, "Are You the 1701?"

Of course, many Trek fans will tell you that the Enterprise's registry number is NCC-1701, so the natural conclusion would be that this website is in reference to joining the ship's crew. So far, the URL directs users to a Facebook page and a Twitter account, both of which are light on details at the moment.

Hmnn

The Ultimate Clue Regarding the Star Trek Into Darkness Villain?
Because the new trailer that hit yesterday has given us a clue that simply cannot be ignored. Obviously, beware of potential spoilers…

There's a quick shot in the trailer where we see a group of… coffins? Well, maybe. We know that there is some kind of tragedy and/or attack that seems to hit Earth in Star Trek Into Darkness, and presumably lives are lost. But the thing about these coffins is, if you look closely, they have windows. And the windows have frost on them.

That's because they're not coffins, guys. They're freeze chambers. And you know who spent almost 300 years in cryosleep in a freeze chamber? Khan Noonien Singh, of course!

Now, just because crysosleep chambers are in the new movie, it doesn't mean that Cumberbatch is playing Khan. Hell, he could be one of Khan's disciples, working to revive his master. (Khan was frozen along with some 80 fellow genetically-engineered "supermen" back during the Eugenics Wars on Earth in the 1990s, which geekily-speaking, should still have happened in Abrams' Star Trek timeline since those events occurred before the destruction of the Kelvin in 2009's Star Trek, which is the point at which Abram's timeline splits off from the original Shatner/Nimoy series). Or maybe the chambers have nothing to do with Khan and it's just some other group of frozen people in there.
