Hey Atrocitus. There's a reason they're called Manhunters :P

With all the cancellations that DC have been doing, this of all books is still going?

What a waste of Milligan.

This book has been consistently one of the more entertaining Lantern titles 8)
There's way more to Atrocitus and his Corp than just "big angry aliens".

the previews obviously show that. it's basically populated by emo's with rage rings raging and throwing up burning blood.

as bad as the other gl books have gotten at least they progress somewhere. this books just been spinning its wheels since the reboot.

enlighten me then.

red lantern on their planet still broken since the first arc.
characters are raging fucktards that rage more than a liefeld facial expression.
rankorr is still a wide eyed idiot struggling with RAGE.
now-intelligent red lanterns are one-note sadists.

in 15 issues the other GL titles have actually progressed. this has gone nowhere fast.

Since the reboot #1 issue:

- Krona's body was stolen.
- Atrocitus' first RL returns for vengeance and poisons the Red Central Power Battery eventually destroying it.
- The first Earth Red Lantern is created who maintains his intelligence and can create constructs (no other RL creates constructs).
- Stormwatch captures Skallox and cuts off his hand to examine his ring, Atrocitus and Dex-Star then battle Stormwatch.
- Bleez and others battle the Star Sapphires.
- The Central Power Battery is repaired but cannot stay fully powered because the Inversions are secretly hiding under Ysmault and draining it.
- The Third Army attacks but it's Atrocitus that determines their weakness and realizes that the Guardians are behind it when none of the GLs have so far.
- Atrocitus attempts to reactivate a hidden group of Manhunters to battle the the Third Army.

In the meantime Kyle Rayner is still trying to master all the color rings aided by the too-pissy-to-wear-a-slutty-Star Sapphire-outfit Carol Ferris who never wanted to wear her Sapphire ring but now is his trainer ? :smt017

First 3 points were basically from the first 2-3 issues while it traded water about how angsty the first RL made Atrocitus. Abysmus then lumbered around like the crap character he was for an entire year while the Red Lanterns were too sick of bad scripts to do anything about it.

The Stormwatch crossover's only saving moment (one issue of RL) was Midnighter punching the cat.

The Bleez/Star Sapphire thing....on come on, it led to a Star Sapphire Bleez tease? An entire year of build-up where all we got is that everyone is angry tortured broken souls that explode in rage...aka exactly what Johns had been doing 3 or so years ago.

The Third Army/Manhunters storyline was the only time this book got interesting if it still didn't trudge about like it was walking through mud with characters it seems he's trying so hard to make uninteresting.

This book deserves to be taken to the back of the shed and shot. It's Way's Thunderbolts levels of bad with its all over the place dialog and gratuitous scenes of tough dull characters posing tough with bloody violence.

Nice summary of the last 3 months

As weak as New Guardians is right now...it managed to shift between a large diverse cast for 12 or so issues before it became the Kyle Rayner show in #0. Setting up Sayd as the actual villain of the first story where there were so many candidates was actually good writing.
