So, I've been thinking of changing some things up with these threads - and then again maybe not
are 7 nominees too many? Too few? Just right?
should we be able to nominate 1 comic AND second another?
any other thoughts?

Changing the number may be good, but then there are the weeks when we can barely get six. It's very tidal, and I can see arguments both ways.

I definitely think nominating and seconding another is a good option.

Star Wars #1 (2013)

I'm not sure a seventh nomination makes much difference, but nominating and seconding would be interesting.

To be fair I think the one thread is for nominating and the same thread to vote isn't very good. I liked the 2 thread format.

7 nominations might dilute the votes a bit. Most weeks there aren't 5 let alone 7 worthy covers.

5 covers seems just about right.

Nominate or second, I don't think there's need for both.

We are all attention whores (except me of course). Add the name of the nominatee for the winning cover in the next week's thread.

All (of the three, til now) covers for Arena have been homages to posters/covers of movies/books with similar premises.
The first one, wich even won Cover os the Week in the beginning of December, is to Battle Royale, the second is to Lord of the Flies, and this, of course, is to Hunger Games.
