DC's SUPERMAN FCBD Release Revealed

The issue also features a preview of the upcoming 'Man of Steel' series

Source: Newsarama

DC's Free Comic Book Day release has been revealed:  a reprint of 2006's Action Comics #844, the first part of the "Last Son" story co-written by Geoff Johns and Richard Donner, with art by Adam Kubert.

The issue also features a preview of the upcoming Man of Steel series by writer Scott Snyder and artist Jim Lee.

This ties to both the June 14 debut of the Man of Steel feature film, and a new collected edition of the "Last Son" story titled Superman: Last Son of Krypton, released earlier this month. "Last Son" paired DC writer Johns — now the company's chief creative officer — with Donner, who directed the 1978 Superman film and part of Superman II.

Wait, wait... DC's free giveaway book... Is part one of a story that doesn't feature the Superman in their current books, and isn't in continuity anymore? Just to drive sales of ONE trade paperback?

Odd choice, that...

DC's big chance to promote and further tease The Trinity War even more, and this is what they choose to do instead. :smt011

The interest they generated with their last FCBD offering must not be repeated!

Maybe they'll redo his costume in the reprint

That's what I thought when I saw that this was taking place pre-reboot while he's still on that armor

Strange choice indeed given how out of their way they went to move so far past the old continuity.

The only reason I can see DC reprinting "Last Son" is because Zod is in it, and Zod is in the new movie.

Pass. Honestly, the indies are the better choice on FCBD...at least in my experience.

Yeah, because there's nothing like a Superman movie coming out this year, right?

Honestly, if a non comics reader walks in to a LCS on Free Comic Book Day what is more likely to pick up - a free Superman comic, or a free Trinity War comic? Yeah, I thought so.
