This truly is the Kali Yuga, for people to debase themselves to blindly swear by known liars and demagogues. :-(

To imagine that in the future ahead it must get even worse than this is almost too much to bear sometimes.

Bears are a very good reason to have an AR-15.

Funny, but no. The school his kids go to has other, privately hired armed guards.

I'm sure you think the Washington Post is just lying, but they are reporting the school does not have armed guards.

Fantastic. I'm so proud this American board is exposing the lies.

I love you guys. Even Achilles.

I liked Achilles, it's just he's chosen to believe words that sound right to him without considering if they may be untrue or deceptive.

Always consider just as closely, or more closely, the assertions made by people with whom you would naturally agree, is what I try to remember. Remember that people will sell you a big lie by first telling you a small truth.

Let's just address the armed guards thing. You can find a lot of folks even in the Israeli government who want and believe all sorts of things. But he doesn't say WHY dealing with a maniac trying to shoot up a school is different than dealing with a terrorist trying to shoot up a school. Largely because it isn't, except maybe that the terrorist is likely to be more practised and to have scoped out the school better. So really, all that guy says is that he doesn't like guns.

Now you can debate the logistics of putting armed guards in schools. Though we do have thousands of unemployed vets who could be trained for the purpose. And let's face it, elites like Obama do seem to be fine with them as long as it's their children being guarded. So why not at least see if it's feasible to try it for the rest of us?

After all, as Lott and other point out, banning guns will only restrict them from law abiding citizens, not someone who is going to kill people. Some of the highest crime rates in the nation come from the places with the strictest gun control laws---because criminals are the only ones with guns.

Terrorists in Israel don't go into a school looking to shoot it up. They strap a bomb to their chest and blow themselves up. Maybe they should put armed guards in coffee shops and on every bus ... those are the places that aren't enjoying that "great effect" of safety.

And why do people keep using Obama and his kids as this false equivalency? It's downright idiotic. If someone were to go after Obama's kids, it would be because they're Obama's kids ... or any President for that matter. If someone were to shoot a regular citizen's kid, it was because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. They are not the same.

How long are we going to let this issue destroy the country? Are guns the real problem here? Or is it children? Outlaw children, and then there won't be any for gunmen to shoot.

If this gun control thing works, I think we should try this method for other problems. For instance, outlawing guns might not be enough when people could kill someone, say, by bashing their head in with a rock. We should outlaw murder. That would cover all the bases.

Novelist Larry Correia explains exactly what would be banned in an assault rifle ban.

The second half has to do with guns in schools

http://larrycorreia.wordpress.com/2012/ ... n-control/

the post they talk about in the video is found in the above link. I've read it and I think it is worth taking a look at.

His writings include the Monster Hunter series of books (International, Vendetta, Alpha and Legion) and the Grimnoir Chronicles (Hard Magic, spellbound). Both are very good series, but I think the Grimnoir chronicles are better and just a plain cool system of magic.

no, the real problem lies in the absurdly low cost of bullets.

Has anyone even thought about consulting an animal control specialist about this? They are well respected authorities on firearm ownership, as demonstrated by the Zimmerman thread last year.
