Time for a complaining thread from me.

I live with my family in a house. It's an old house and we made an extension to it almost 20 years ago now. Anyway, the part i live in is the old part. My sister and her husband decided that we should get solar to cut down on the electricity and such. I thought it was a good idea I guessed. First though, we'd have to make sure the roof was okay and such.

Well, the roof on the older side of the house was no so okay. There was a bunch of roof rot , a good portion near my room. So one day I came home and found my bed covered with all kinds of shit that fell from fell from the ceiling while they were reconstructing the eaves.

So that led me to laying plastic sheeting down on the bed and surrounding areas in my room (this happened in other rooms too but not as bad). Since they were still working on the roof, I just left things like that and slept outside waiting for them to be done (there were some weather delays).

Well, tonight we were due for some heavy rains. I was a little concerned, but not too much since we've had rain off and on all month. Just in case though, I checked my room before going to take a shower. Pretty good.

After my shower, just as routine, I went to check my room...

... and there was a big puddle of water on my bed (yeah make a joke). Worse, because the sheeting was there to protect from tiny bits of debris, the ends were kind of just left to droop down. The debris would get caught in the little dips and pockets if they went that far.

But this was water. So the weight had the ends going to the floor and under it was... my comics. The stuff I haven't read yet. And my Japanese hobby magazines (yeah yeah make more jokes).

It was pretty sickening.

I have a new plastic sheeting curtain now diverting most of the leaking into a big bucket now, but it was too late for my stuff. I didn't look at the damage closely yet (just rushed to move it away from the major wet areas), but I feel very sick about it.

When you reach a certain age its not a good idea to drink many liquids before going to bed. You should know that.

Ok, jokes aside, that sucks. Put your comics out to dry, they probably be wrinkled, but at least will be readable.

Hope the repairs to the roof are finished quickly.

I still haven't really looked a the damage done to my comics and magazines. Too depressing and I have to go to work.

Great news... now the water is pooling above my ceiling so things could get worse.

Haha it irritated me when I first heard about the interview. I do know some folks that consider Hawaii to be too slow for them so I just say whatever. Making a statement like "the food sucks" though is more annoying. We locals have a word for him...
