DC Goes F***in' Crazy, Reveals 'WTF Certified' Logo

Warning, this article contains language inappropriate for youngsters.

Source: Buzzfeed

Despite its ban on "R rated" curses in its comic books, DC has revealed a new logo to go along with its latest 90's throwback sales gimmick. The company announced that all 52 of its mainstream titles would have a "WTF Certified" stamp on it, presumably as a wink to fans who have been wondering what the fuck has been going on at DC.

"Lissen," said Dan Didio, once a soft-spoken DC executive.  "We wanted to make sure that fans had a fucking idea what the fuck would be happening in our motherfucking comics.  I'm fucking sick and tired of lissening to bitchy fans and their fucking excuses."

"Fuck," agreed Bob Harras, DC's editor in chief.  "Fuckity fuck fuck, fuckity fucking fucks, fuckily."

However, not every fan was amused by the new logo. "Get these motherfuckin' stamps off my motherfuckin' comic!" said Sam Jackson, while simultaneously cutting off a velociraptor's head with a lightsaber and choking a snake.  "Comics, motherfucker. Do you read them?"

Frankly, we're not sure what the fuck to make of this logo ourselves, but we're fucking glad that we just used the word "fuck" in an article twenty-two times, matching the average amount of f-bombs dropped in a scene from The Wire.  And that's the only thing that fucking matters.

Here's the fucking logo.

Booster Gold reappears while an entire team disappears
• One team is trapped in a bottle while another is changed completely
• Some heroes change their colors and other change allegiances
• Pandora battles to the death
• A close encounter of The Dark Knight kind
• There's a new, old Creeper and some old New Gods.
• One hero quits, and another hero dies

Newsarama takes a stab at this:
In JLI Annual #1, an older Booster from the future traveled back in time to warn the current-day Booster that Superman and Wonder Woman have to be stopped. But young Booster and old Booster weren't able to stop them, because they faded just when Wonder Woman and Superman kissed.

All Star Western #19: The cover shows someone with gold-colored gloves pointing a gun at Jonah Hex, and the solicitation says "What type of gold means certain death for Jonah Hex?"

DC Universe Presents #19: The solicitation says, "In this final issue, what time displaced-hero has arrived on our world—and is the destruction he brings the herald to a great disaster?"

Both. After all, he's a time traveler, and they take place in two different eras.

There's a new, old Creeper... - the cover of Nightwing shows him fighting someone with "Ha! Ha! Ha!" in the background. So it's pretty obvious that's where we'll see a New 52 version of The Creeper in that book, and on that cover (as teased by Norm Rapmund on Twitter).

You mean the next relaunch will make more sense or less sense?

If only it was the return - in some small form - of the previous DCU
As i've noted elsewhere, Marvel just did a successful crossover between old and new Spideys.
Why DC never thought to do this, to have their cake and then eat it too, is frankly beyond me

As for the entire "WTF" stunt, EiC Bob Harris described the move as exploring "the theme of game-changing, upping the stakes for our heroes. This was a way to accentuate that threat or shocking moments in our heroes' lives. What we're doing with the covers is thematically linked to that. They will be page-fold covers; the covers will tell you a story. There will be an image that will crack the page fold, and as you open up the cover, you'll say, 'Oh, wow!'"

We are t-minus 6 months to the return of chromium covers.
