Marvel Movies Phase 3 to Adapt Planet Hulk, World War Hulk?

Rumor has it the popular Planet Hulk and World War Hulk stories will play a big role in Phase 3 of Marvel's Movieverse!

Source: Latino Review

Latino Review is reporting that, following Avengers 2 in June of 2015, Marvel will be working on a Planet Hulk movie, with Hulk returning to Earth for World War Hulk style revenge in Avengers 3. Revenge for what? Supposedly, Hulk will get shipped into space at the end of Avengers 2 by the movieverse's version of the Illuminati, which we assume to be the vaguely international shadow council that Nick Fury talks to via group Skype chat in The Avengers. Latino Review, a rumor and gossip website, caused controversy last year when Marvel threatened to sue them for revealing leaked information about Guardians of the Galaxy, which of course immediately validated them as an accurate and premiere source for all Marvel movie news, causing every one of their rumors to get picked up by the entire comics media.

So... well done on that one, Marvel lawyers. Didn't backfire at all.

Avengers 2 hits theaters in June 2013.

I don't see this happening.

Could be interesting if all The Avengers are put out of action. Hulk in space. Thor banished to Asgard. Captain America arrested. Iron Mans suits seizes and destroyed. Fury dead.

The bad guys take over. New York in ruins.

The Hulk comes back.

That sounds kinda depressing... but it could be good, too.

After the way things played out in the Avengers, I just don't see how Tony Stark could go from being the Hulk's biggest supporter to being one of the men who want to shoot him into space. It just doesn't make sense. However, if the shadowy organization that was giving Nick Fury his orders during the Avengers is the Illuminati, then I suppose this is something that could happen.

That could be a cool way to introduce new Avengers. They band to gether to stop the Hulk/save the Avengers.

If they do another Hulk movie, I'd like to see what happen with him at Stark's.

Not sure they could do it. For comic fans it's about the Hulk. For movie fans and those of us who remember the TV series, it's about Banner and his struggle to find a balance.

And that's why the movies haven't been successful, yet Hulk was the breakout star of Avengers.

The focus should be on Hulk, not Banner.

Did anyone watch the Planet Hulk cartoon? I saw it at the store the other day but didn't bother buying it.

It's not bad, if you liked the comic then you will like the animated version
I would love to see a Planet Hulk movie, my fave Hulk story ever. I am guessing there would be lots of CGI for this.

WTF is this rank?

I could see it happening. It would be a good way to balance the Hulk and Banner in terms of action, and a nice setup for the third act of the Avengers franchise.

Avengers 2 hits theaters in June 2013.

Umm, don't you mean 2015?
