It had some moments where I thought it would get good. Jeff doing the dean's hunger games was good and Troy and Britta fighting made me laugh ("Why do I like this?") but this show is too Abed-centric right now and its starting to annoy me.
I really enjoyed this episode. It wasn't the best episode of the series but it was a fun way to welcome it back. My largest complaint with the episode was the laugh track that was used inside of Abed's head but I doubt that will be back, so I'll just sit back and enjoy the ride. So glad this show is back.
I liked it. I think the show has been away so long, it's had time to build up a lot of expectations. I'm glad the first episode is out of the way.

Just because I don't know how to spell the language of some tiny African nation doesn't mean that I'm wrong in thinking that your attitude towards women is 100% wrong. Obviously, you're some skinny, single nerd living on the East Coast who probably derives value in life from wrestling matches, hoping that Wolverine gets to sleep with teenagers and engaging in casual drug use. You're literally the worst thing to happen to comics since Stan Lee.
It would be an interesting experiment to see the reactions to this episode from people who don't know about the back-stage changes this show has gone through.
Would they notice a difference at all? I think most fans are hyper-sensitive to anything that feels off because they know that Harmon is no longer there.

I was thinking about this while watching. If Harmon had been involved or I was ignorant of his firing I probably would have just considered it an "off" episode and not thought too much about it. As is, I was like "Okay, they ruined this show."

It was originally supposed to return on October 19th, 2012. About 2 weeks before the season premiere NBC suddenly just up and pulled it from the schedule with some story about wanting to concentrate on the shows that were already on the air. A few weeks later they announced that Community would return on February 7th. A short clip was shot featuring the cast of Community explaining that while the show would return on February 7th, that date would actually be the new October 19th.
