DC Shocker: DC Announces New Semi-Topical Series

DC Shocker: DC Announces New Semi-Topical Series

The series will be written by Gail Simone and the creative team of Art Baltazar and Franco respectively.

Source: Huffington Post

DC has announced two new series that will help fill in the gap left by yesterday's mass cancellations.  The series will focus on the 1% and the 99% in the DC Universe and will be titled The Green Team and The Movement respectively.

The Movement will be written by Gail Simone, with art by Freddie Williams II, and looks to capture some of the spirit of last year's Occupy movements.  Meanwhile The Green Team will focus on a set of rebellious tean billionaires looking to make waves in the DC Universe.  The series will have a lighthearted tone and will be written by the crack creative team of Art Baltazar and Franco.  Ig Guara will provide the art.

The bottom line is this: Gail Simone and Baltazar/Franco series will be an upgrade to Rob Liefeld castoffs like Deathstroke and Team 7

Why is everything always a "shocker" ? It's not even that satirical

Much like Dan and the Gang, Jude and the Gang have this ridiculously misplaced desire to overhype DC crap. :P

Edit: I also note that they're stealing ideas from me again, bringing back the Green Team. I came up with that one before it was cool. 8)

Because it's not a shocker. Everything DC does is completely predictable. Just like Herald's conspiracy driven failure to grasp any simple concept.

Actually, reviving the Green Team is probably the definition of shocker- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Green_Team:_Boy_Millionaires
I was expecting a revamp of Prez and Sugar & Spike before that.
Teen Thrillionaires is also a hilarious subtitle. Color me curious.

Loeb taking over Marvel animation made him leave.

Now he has to deal with CN.

And the shitty concepts keep on rolling...it's like they're actively trying to avoid my money.

It's also making fun of all the sites who make a huge deal out of the most obvious news.

I can't believe they are reviving the Green Team! That book could actually be awesome, in a stupid kind of way.

The Movement will probably be awful though, I doubt Simone is the writer to tackle a serious, topical comic, she's too fond of bad jokes and traditional superhero storytelling. Just read Bendis' Scarlet instead.
