Irregardless, it was still a mystery why Access or the two brother entities were never mentioned.
it's not a mystery, it's because nobody gave a shit about those characters.

That was going to be my second guess ironically.

Isn't it sad when characters are forgotten because they're uninteresting?

Pretty much I guess. What they should have done in that JLA/ Avengers crossover was at least acknowledge that the previous crossovers by mentioning that the brothers had chosen Kismet and Eternity as their avatars and mention that Access was away or something. It seemed pointless to have both the Avengers and JLA forget that they met before.

Why did it seem pointless? Why did it need to be mentioned?

I'm a stickler for continuity and not just rebooting stuff over and over again. I'm pretty sure that down the road if they do another DC/ Marvel crossover, they'll just do another thing where they will pretend that the characters from both verses never met and maybe throw in some other cosmic entities who are the essences to their perspective worlds and act like this was never done before.

Well after all the retcons and reboots in DC I wouldn't be surprised if Supes, Bats and Wondy can't remember meeting the Avengers.

I look back at when Quesada took over at Marvel and said that company cross-overs are bad for the industry. He goes on to say that if everyone are friends then lack competition drives down the product produced. I can see his point and really do not see a need for a big two cross-over.

That's his opinion. Personally I have nothing against inter-companies crossovers.

Yet Quesada had the Avengers do a crossover with the Transformers several years ago. Quesada has a tendency to talk out both sides of his mouth at his times. This is the same guy who said that the Ultimate and 616 Marvel-verse would never have a crossover yet we then had the Peter and Miles Spidermans meet last year.
