I'm almost there - 10 more months. But I totally empathize with you.
And somehow Byrne was able to do three superman titles a month and they didn't suck. Jurgens too! Now, one a month for artists if we're lucky?

Jaxx, I like what you're trying to do here, but the 20something thread is steeped in tradition and will never go away because of its ties to one of this forums' most beloved members, Adison, whom we lost way too early. He was good peeps and always found time to shoot the breeze with fellow members about any topic.
Carry on, just letting you know. No offense intended.

Well, I'm fortysomething, but I think there's real danger to be had in nostalgia. Sure, there were some great books around in the 70s and 80s, but there still are today as well - often better books, to be honest. I know there's some real crap out there, but there always has been.

I've got 6 more years till I can join this club.
I didn't really start reading comics until 1989 or so. I used to beg my Dad to drive me to the Comic Universe store in a town near where I lived. I remember fondly the times my Mom would take me to the little rinky-dink comic conventions they'd have in the local hotels, or how excited I was when they took me to the 1993 Comic Fest in Philadelphia--my first major comic book convention.

Byrne did my favorite Superman stories, as a writer and an artist, and more than twice a month!
