I'm not familiar with Fawkes' writing but he did a really decent job with this. He did his homework and seamlessly tied in a few moments from Simone's previous issues and the current Joker storyline while setting up the plot of this issue. The action and story flow smoothly as Barbara realizes that there is more going on here than meets the eye. We don't get to find out much about about the new villain as his first confrontation with Batgirl almost immediately does not go in her favor and leaves us with a cliff-hanger that I'm sure she'll survive but I'm curious to see what this is leads to.
