A new video reveals what appears to be a black Spider-Man costume.
Source: IGN Amazing Spider-Man director Mark Webb, who, let's face it, was pretty much destined to direct the Spider-Man franchise based on his last name alone, posted a short video that showed a close up on the eye of what appears to be the new Spider-Man costume for the sequel to 2012's Amazing Spider-Man. The eye is surrounded by all black material, leading us to believe that the suit will be made from synthetic human flesh that bruises when struck, and that Spidey has been punched in the eye.
What? Oh, actually it makes more sense that the suit will be colored black, like in the post-Secret Wars storyline that is rehashed in every Spider-Man adaptation in any media at some point or another.
It is, at this time, impossible to tell from the image whether Andrew Garfield has been replaced by Joseph Gordon Levitt, but it is also impossible to prove that he isn't, which should be good for at least a month's worth of article speculating about it.
Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters next May. Here's an attractive photo of co-star Emma Stone from GQ which we found on Google Image Search.
Fine, we guess we'll also post an image of the Spider-costume.
