X-Men vs. Sentinels in All New X-Men #9 Preview

The time-displaced X-Men face off against sentinels on the streets of New York City in this first look at All New X-Men #9!

Source: Press Release

Check out this first look at All New X-Men #9. There are no words, as is the custom with these first look, so we can only look at the pictures and imagine what is going on. My theory is that the Sentinels are part of fascist New York mayor Bloomberg's latest plot to eliminate sugary beverages in the city, and that the X-Men are fighting them off to defend the constitutional right of mutants and humans everywhere to drink 86 ounce Mountain Dews and die of obesity, an issue close to the hearts of comic book fans.

Whatever's going on, it looks great, and this is probably the best mainstream comic on the stands today.

Here's the press release:

Marvel NOW! – ALL-NEW X-MEN #9 First Look!

Marvel is pleased to present your first look at All-New X-Men #9, from the critically acclaimed creative team of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Stuart Immonen! Hot on the heels of the Uncanny X-Men facing Sentinels in their first issue, the All-New X-Men find themselves face-to-face with Sentinels for the very first time. Something is boiling under the surface of the Marvel Universe! Also, Mystique continues to make some big moves that will have huge circumstances for the X-Men.

As part of Marvel NOW!, All-New X-Men joins a number of titles that will take the Marvel Universe in an exciting all-new direction, as the industry’s top creators join the top Super Heroes to deliver all-new ongoing series, great for new and lapsed readers alike!

Each issue of All-New X-Men includes a code for a free digital copy on the Marvel Comics app (for iPhone®, iPad®, iPad Touch® & Android devices). Each issue of All-New X-Men features special augmented reality content available exclusive through the Marvel AR app – including cover recaps, behind the scenes features and more that add value to your reading experience at no additional cost.

An all-new direction! All-new threats! All-new consequences! This is All-New X-Men #9!

The sentinels in the streets ? That is a cool angle for that shot.

Hope they explain the wonkiness with Jean soon. As pointed out a few issues ago she shouldn't even have access to her telepathy yet. And at this point in her actual timeline she could barely throw a small couch across the room let alone a frickin; truck ! :?

That's right, the stress of being absolutely horrible to young Cyclops for no good reason was too much for her to bear.

well lets see, when Jeans telepathy first came out when she witnessed her friends death it happened because of witnessing that traumatic event. She gets thrown into the future, and witness a lot of shocking/horrible things so it makes sense that those blocks that Xavier put in would break down again.
