Another update.
Adam still isn't home. He has bradycardia, and the doctors want to keep him until that goes away. Otherwise, he is doing fine. He's in a normal crib and off the IV. He's eating well and gaining weight, although he's still tiny (around four pounds). He'll come home once the bradycardia goes away, but we have no idea when that will be.

All the luck to the little guy. Hope he is home soon.

My best wishes. I'm sure he'll be fine pretty soon.

I've been ableb to hold him a few times, and even though this is my second child it is still a heady experience. We hope he will be home in the next week or so. His big brother is really eager to help out with the baby.

Bradycardia is an insidious illness. It mostly involves humping inflatable palm trees, but Adam also banned me from the nursery during my last visit.

Did he do it with a pithy remark? That might be a bad sign....

Yeah, he's still in the hospital.
He's doing fine, eating well, and the doctors expect him to outgrow the bradycardias in time (and they have been decreasing in the last week), but there is still no timetable for sending him home. Jess and I are growing increasingly frantic.

He seems to be. He's gaining weight and he's had fewer bradys. Most that he does have are after he eats (and when I hold him), which supports the theory that they are acid reflux related. According to the doctors, as well as our own consultations with other doctors in the family and independent research, bradycardia is pretty common in preemies and goes away with time. The question is how much time it will take.

Poor little guy.

On a weird note, the other day I went to see a psychic (I do that sometimes) and he read my palm and told me that at some point before my birth or my first year, I was sick or there was a chance that I would have died but I didn't. He told me to ask my mom about it but I haven't. I find it weird because she NEVER talks about when I was born or anything before my first birthday.
