Like I said depending on the author and artist, Samurai Jack is BOUGHT ON SIGHT. WATCH OUT!!! :P

I thought you were only going to buy Powerpuff Girls if you were in it?

I think someone like Van Lente could do a good Samurai Jack...

Were supposed to be for kids. Comic books haven't been exclusively for kids for years now.

Nobody said "exclusively" for kids. Indeed, the times comics sold best were when they were "for kids of ALL ages."

Part of the problem with the industry right now is that too many fanboy creators and readers insist that the characters now belong to adults like them, with all the adult content that goes with it. If they don't foster a love of these comics, these characters in KIDS, superhero comics may well die with us adults. Nice job, fans...

Some people are so used to reading about DC and Marvel superheroes that they forget that those are ALSO supposed to be "for kids"...

Comics aren't supposed to be for kids anymore.

Very likely. The industry can't depend on an aging readership to continue its survival. It needs to introduce new readers to comics at a younger age.

Also, parents who are comics fans want to introduce their kids to comics, but most feel stuff going on the the mainstream Marvel or DC books are too inappropriate for kids.

Just like the fanboys currently running the show, you're thinking short-term, and completely missing the long-term ramifications of what they're doing.

As mentioned on the podcast, I see crossover potential.

My Little Pony teaming with Bubbles to kick Mojo's ass. Ghostbusters invading Foster's Home...

I just don't care about children, if they wanted to read comics, they would be.

Thank you for further demonstrating your short-sightedness. :smt011

Right now, if children wanted to read mainstream DCnU/Marvel Universe comics, they COULDN'T. And why?? Because, paradoxically enough, creators and readers need to convince themselves that THEY are "Not kids anymore!" despite continuing to enjoy stories about people in colorful Halloween costumes hitting each other. So they have to have heroes and their foes cause nasty massacres, and Catwoman mounting Batman, both on-panel now.

Why should the kids lose out because you guys suffer from low self-esteem??

That GL cartoon is pretty damn good. Its funny and the animation is pretty solid.

In any case, this doesn't bode well for DC Kids.
