I'm sure CM Punk, when he's having what will likely be the best match on the card and cashing in one of the biggest paychecks of his career, is going to care about being third from the top. Punk's old school, as someone who has followed the majority of his career and seen many a shoot interview with him, I would feel very comfortable saying that he knows this is how it should be. He'll main event WM before long, but just the same he most likely knows the importance of this match.

The Rock v John Cena
CM Punk v The Undertaker
Triple H vs Brock Lesnar
Sheamus/Randy Orton/RyBack vs The Shield

Hell of a lineup right there.

Rock vs Cena won't live up to the hype just like last year and following a match like Punk and Cena just had is gonna make the Rock look ever worse. Rock is not around enough to go out and put on that type of match. For whatever reason he is not like Taker or even Jericho where he seems to be able to flip that switch and go at it like he has never stepped away. You can tell that The Rock is a part time wrestler and it really showed last year at WM and I think it will again this year.

Don't won't to see Punk vs Taker, as I said I would rather Punk not wrestle at all than lose to Taker this year.

HHH vs Brock really make it look like that are trying to kill each other most of the time, so if we get a match like that and not one like they had at Summer Slam where it was just arm hold after arm hold, then yeah that could be an awesome match.

I think Sheamus will fight Barrett for the IC title at WM, that seems to be what they are building too. Orton and Ryback in a Handicap match against the Shield seems more likely to me at this point. I could see Orton turning on Ryback as well, going back to full on heel Orton.

Not to mention the very real possibility that he'll have the distinction of being the opponent in the Undertaker's last match, cause you never know if he'll be good for next year.

Hadn't even considered that actually. Which is something I'd bet he'd love.

Before long meaning not in the next two years.

WM XXX will probably be Rock vs. Lesnar, or Taker fighting Rock or Cena in the "Last Ride" match. Punk will be lucky if he gets the third match on the card again next year.

But again, that's not something he's likely to find fault with.

Can't see Taker missing out on WM XXX. You could make a strong argument making that his last match would be the Main Event. Especially if it was against someone like Rock or Lesnar or Cena.

You gotta remember, we're talking about a guy who understands the real point of the business. He's not a mark for himself like Hogan or Triple H, who always have to appease their egos. Punk has more respect for both himself and this industry. He knows he can lose a match (or three) and still be over like rover.

I'd say it puts his career in a holding pattern.

To be fair, he has been trying every way possible to armchair book WM without Rock/Cena 2 since last summer. Only makes sense that he already gets started on WM30.
