I'm Going to Miss Blue Beetle (Spoilers for Issue #36)

Postby Stephen Day » Thu Feb 26, 2009 9:16 pm

Overall, this was just a fun series to follow and the final issue was no exception.

I was surprised to see Nadia killed and equally surprised to see Hector's reaction to her death. I loved the Ted Kord cameo though.

Jaime Reyes as Blue Beetle was one of the few good choices DC made post One Year later.

Like the thread title says -- I'm going to miss this series. :(

*cries*

I loved this series. And I always will. *works on brainstorming and schematics for Blue Beetle suit costume*

He'll be back. That's what I am aiming for.

I loved that they showed who the Black Beetle was.

It was a great issue, but I was sad to see it end. I put off reading it until this afternoon. It's pathetic that a book this well written, with a great minority cast (that wasn't played in anything resembling a stereotypical way), wasn't something Didio could find a way to sell. I mean seriously, that's just sad.

The fact it's come after Jaime has just started to get massive exposure on Cartoon Network, makes it seem even worse.

I hope for a new series in a year or two.

Unless of course Didio does what Didio does best. Dust him under the rug with the rest of the second gen character. *ahem* GET OUT OF MY BODY HERALD! GET OUT! MINE! MINE!

He's not a second gen character.

He's a third gen character. :P

Which makes him more dangerous to the didio regime.

I don't think there was a dud issue in the entire run. It was awesome from beginning to end.

It's sad that such a quality book gets overlooked. Does anyone know what Rafael Albuquerque is doing next? I liked his work alot after Cully Hamner left.

At least I'll be able to read Blue Beetle's adventures in Teen Titans. :-)

And I can always look at the Blue Beetle Cully Hamner backboard sketch I got a couple of years ago. :-)

Yeah, got my first Teen Titan book and only cause it has Jaime in it. LOL I may be a little interested in that series now. :D
