Ok, so, I've been thinking about dropping Avengers as the current storyline is something I find interesting, but there wasn't anything that I felt was hooking me in to continue reading. I had already decided that this issue would be the last one that I would buy when I purchased it at my LCS.

Then I read the last four pages. First the name Nightmask came up and I was, "ah they're reusing that name, isn't that interesting," but didn't think of anything else other than that. Then the White Event was mentioned and the Star Brand appeared on Nightmask's forehead.

So, I was going to drop this series, but as a fan of the old New Universe, this has me curious about where this is going. I guess this is the hook I needed to keep me reading.

I'm sure that a lot of people know as Marvel isn't the best at keeping things like this a surprise these days. The thing is, since up until now I haven't been really excited about the direction of this series, I haven't been paying too much attention to articles about what's up and coming with it. That seems to have worked in my favour this time.

I'm with you I haven't really been paying attention and was on the verge of dropping it too. I didnt even recognize the name Nightmask until I saw the starbrand and the whole "white event." Thats when I realized what was going on.

I have been seriously thinking about dropping this book as well and the things you talked about do little to interest me at all. So yeah I think I will probably be dropping the Avengers real soon.

Rather see them bring back the Ultraverse than the New Universe characters.

I still find it really weird that an Avenger led that team for a while.

Ultraverse was amazing before Marvel got their dumb mitts on it.

I wouldn't mind a revival of Prime, Hardcase and the Strangeres.

Slow build..

Giving Hickmans FF on the epicness he likes to do, just wait for it. Something big is going to happen.

Which is one of the reasons why that book began to suck when they put a b-list Avengers character on it as the leader. Black Knight was no Hardcase and it definately showed from the get-go.

So agreed. However Marvel needs to either bring these characters back or sell them off to some other company that can make good use of them as its criminal to let them rot in limbo for so many years do to some biased stupidity on Marvel's part.

New Universal was really well done, it'll be interesting to see what the lifespan of it will be in the 616.

Agree NU was much better than it should have been and could have some more interesting stories for readers.

:smt011 Black Knight is a better character than Hardcase by leaps and bounds.
