Seriously, what is this ? It automatically adds links to certain key-words in our posts. For example if I just type the words below, VigLink adds the link:

Batman
Amazon
VigLink

Anyways, Viglink is an ad revenue stream we're trying out. I'm not sure exactly how it works (Jude has those details), but I'm sure Jude's tinkering with it as we speak.

Yes, I'm experimenting as our regular revenue streams have been lackluster and we have to pay the site bill somehow. How annoying is it?

It's not that annoying. I just noticed it someone else's post and then in mine.
Just wanted to make sure we weren't being spammed/hacked/used as a vehicle for International Child Porn

Nope, not hacked, but I'm also not sure how valuable it will be. This is what it does - it links words like Amazon, which goes to Amazon's site. If someone clicks that link and then buys stuff on Amazon, we get a percentage. So if anyone wants to help out, if you're planning to shop on Amazon, eBay, etc., come here first and click a link first.

It'll help us pay the bills.

(It may be possible that we'll block it for logged in users so it only exploits the guest bourgeois.)
