Are any of these originals even worth the remake? I see the few classics but really most of these originals aren't exactly lighting the world fire.

In cases like Ocean's 11 I think that's sort of the point, the remake was so much better than the original it does make it worthwhile.

The Thing remake surpasses the original but, I mean movies like Red Dawn aren't exactly good to begin with.

Also I thought the new Fright Night was certainly serviceable.

Would The Mummy count as a remake?

Don't get me wrong, I love me some cult classics but cult classics are usually pretty bad.

Should get the Rifftrax commentary. That's how I've been able to get through the Twilight movies.

To be fair, the original Red Dawn was very much a product of its time. If you didn't watch it when it first came out, you lose a lot of what made it interesting in the first place.

I'll give you Ocean's 11.

I just find remakes really low quality cinema. That and musicals. Remakes of musicals are just the scummiest of scum.

Rocky IV was a product of its time as well, but it's still great. Also it ended the cold war.
