The needs outweighed the risks. They needed more guns and ammo if they're going to put up a fight.

So this is the first time they needed guns and ammo? They were so close to his home town that he could've have gone back to the armory at any time? He got so sidetracked, but didn't have any time to just drive out and find Morgan, which apparently was really easy to do?

This feels like they were tying up a loose end that didn't need to be tied up.

I've noticed that.

I just don't get the whole "character-building."

How did the characters grow?

Rick is cured now? Hopefully it wasn't that easy.
Carl is less stupid? Nope.
The only thing that changed is that they like Michonne now. Yay.

Michonne and Carl bonded. This led to Rick and Michonne bonding.

We got some insight into Michonne's character besides "cold badass."

Carl, who has been displaying cold tendencies lately, showed that he still has his humanity, wanting the picture.

Rick saw himself in Morgan (that was his name, right), and his talk about how Morgan could come back from this, has to come back from this, was clearly partially Rick talking to himself. Rick recognizes that he needs to recover from his own grief or he will become just like this.

We got that during the early times with Andrea.

Carl, who has been displaying cold tendencies lately, showed that he still has his humanity, wanting the picture.

And yet he still made a stupid decision leading to an unnecessary zombie fight. If Michonne didn't follow him, he'd be dead. Another forced conflict because Carl didn't do as he was told.

Rick saw himself in Morgan (that was his name, right), and his talk about how Morgan could come back from this, has to come back from this, was clearly partially Rick talking to himself. Rick recognizes that he needs to recover from his own grief or he will become just like this.

That part was so forced. If Rick is miraculously cured because of this, then they wasted our time with the "Rick going crazy" plot, IMO.

don't see Rick as cured, but rather coming to terms with it and by mocking it he is trying to move forward

I hope they find a psychiatrist on their way home so Rick can really get that looked at by a professional. That's the only way he can successfully come back from crazy town, apparently.

Yeah, I think it's just a realization that he's headed down a dark road if he doesn't make changes.

The group needs him now more than ever.

Why bother? All he needed was a road trip.

Next time he goes nuts they should pack him up and head to Atlantic City.

Fanboys last week: "This Rick going crazy subplot is really annoying, I hate it and wish it would go away."

Famboys this week: "I feel they resolved the Rick going crazy subplot too quickly. I wish they had spent more time on it."

People in the walking dead are on average much stupider than people in real life. You have to take that into account and suspend disbelief. Carl is actually smart compared to characters like Lori and Andrea.

I think you are giving real life people too much credit. :P

That doesn't make sense, you're obviously responding to what is posted in the thread anyway. If you haven't gotten used to people not agreeing with you at this late date, you wouldn't even lurk here.

No it makes sense, 90% of the critiques of these episodes are entirely stupid. As far as your assessment of people not agreeing with me, have we met?

This was one of the better episodes of this part of the season.

I hate the plot, but at least do something to tie it up since you wasted so much time on it.

How would you want them to tie it up? Because "getting over it" is apparently out of the question..
