Just tried to read a copy of the second hardcover from a local library and I only made it two issues in.

In all honesty, what's the appeal of the series?

White people be explaining Gail Simone's Batgirl like this:

(in nerdy white guy voice) "Oh hey, yeah, Gail Simone's Batgirl man, it's very well written."

Black people be explaining Gail Simone's Batiglrl like this:

"It sucks, sucka!"

It's if Menos: the Hands of Fate were put onto comic book form. That's the attraction to it. The comic is so bad... you can't help but chuckle at how purposely badly written it is:

I like it. I like Barbara Gordon (would rather she was still Oracle, but oh well) and I like Gail Simone. While this definitely isn't her strongest work, I think the book is still enjoyable.

LIES! Why Barbara just defeated No-Stephanie and during Court of the Owls defeated Not-Cass with the power of love. :P

Only answer I can fathom that a good writer like Gail Simone churns out moments like THIS in the book:

A writer whose work I've never really enjoyed writing a book I'm not that interested in.
