While I personally would pick Williams, I am a bit surprised at the lack of Elfman on your list...

Basil Poledouris needs some love. His score for Conan the Barbarian is one of the all-time greats. 8)

Him and John Carpenter are so under-rated.

I'd say John Williams no matter what but Jerry Goldsmith was pretty awesome too.

Elfman should be on the list.

As should the person whom I consider the very best... Max Steiner.

As should the person whom I would consider 2nd best... Carl Stalling.

John Williams at the top and John Barry. Williams has the most sound tracks I've purchased. I used to fall asleep to Jurassic Park and hike to Star Wars when camping in the Redwoods

Ennio is the correct answer. He is one of the reasons the Good, The Bad and the Ugly is my fave movie of all time.
