You missed out on a free DLC map and the discounted map pack that it's a part of. :P

I suck at this type of game. It's my first FE game and I am going slowly.

You playing GLX?

Yeah. It's my first Fire Emblem game too. I got it this past week via download code and I'm working my way through it. I'm playing on casual mode, so it feels like Final Fantasy Tactics, instead of the traditional Fire Emblem. I wouldn't say that it's the masterpiece that some critics are calling it, but it's a solid game.

I think I am at chapter 6 only. Restarted levels several times already. :-(

The only way to play Fire Emblem is classic way, every death counts.

If you haven't had to restart a level several times in order to save as many of your heroes as possible, you ain't doing it right.

I'm a coward.

I also have an old Fire Emblem cause I was a sucker and bought the 3DS first day (so am part of the ambassador program and got it free when the price dropped). Didn't try that one though.

How do you rank Awakening compared to the other versions?

I actually just got my 3DS not too long ago. And I'm only about 9 chapters into the game, so I can't really say, but I'm enjoying the game a lot.

I played the latest wii version not too long ago. These games can get really brutal on certain maps. Though most level are trivialized near the end of the game when you get an influx of powerful characters.

Since I am a big dummy with these kinds of games, tell which are the best pairings you have so far. Any marriages/offspring so far?

What kind of game is this or what is the story about?

It's a fantasy-based turned-based tactics game.

As far as the plot... though I do know some of the end parts, I only started so I will resort to wiki...

The story focuses on the trials of Chrom, the prince of the Halidom of Ylisse, and his companions during a turbulent era. When the neighboring nation of Plegia starts acting suspiciously, Chrom commands his band of soldiers--the Shepherds--to keep his country at peace. He encounters an unholy force called the Risen plaguing the lands and a masked swordsman claiming to be Marth, the Hero-King of legend.

The story begins with the player character, "the Avatar", waking up in the middle of the field with no memories of their past life. The Avatar joins Chrom and several members of the Shepherds when a nearby town is attacked by bandits. The Shepherds move to fight both Plegia's forces and the Risen, and are helped by a mysterious swordsman calling himself Marth, who seems to have knowledge of future events. Gangrel is eventually defeated, but at the cost of the life of Chrom's older sister, Emmeryn. Two years after Gangrel's defeat, Chrom inherits the throne of Ylisse from his sister and is married with a newborn daughter named Lucina. Chrom leads the Shepherds again when Emperor Walhart of Valm threatens to invade Ylisse and its allies, and they are victorious. During the campaign, Marth returns and reveals herself to be Lucina from the future. She warns Chrom that in the future, the Fell Dragon Grima awakened and brought destruction to the world. Using a spell created by Grima's nemesis Naga, Lucina traveled back in time to prevent Grima's awakening, which is achieved by combining the legendary Fire Emblem with five magical gems.
