I shot them in color and then applied a few filters using Picasa.
Image processing programs like Photoshop are way over my meager abilities. Picasa is really simple to use, and it is free and it can read RAW files

This one is my fav. The fence and the trees create awesome lines for the eye to follow.

If any of you come to Portugal. Have one of these:

I was lucky enough to have a colleague's Canon 35mm f2 for most of the day and this was one of the shots I took. When compared to my 18-55 kit lens this is a great lens. Awesome Bokeh, fast focus and clear image.

Although I'd been steadily taking vacation pictures over the years, I only just got serious about photography again about a year ago and was wondering wtf this bokeh business was that people were talking about.
I looked it up wondering why I'd never heard of it before.
Simple answer: I'm old. The word hadn't been invented (or used by English speakers) yet when I first learned photography. We used to just say Blurriness. :O

My bad. I'm new to this and Bokeh is all I read about (not that I'm looking). I had to google it for a bit until I finally got a description. I just accepted it as a term of the field.
