Lobdell is a good writer. The problem is that DC hired predominantly nineties creators, and combined that with the 90s design aesthetic. Everything in moderation, IMO.

I LOVE BLUD BLOOD! - Rob Liefeld

Just because I don't know how to spell the language of some tiny African nation doesn't mean that I'm wrong in thinking that your attitude towards women is 100% wrong. Obviously, you're some skinny, single nerd living on the East Coast who probably derives value in life from wrestling matches, hoping that Wolverine gets to sleep with teenagers and engaging in casual drug use. You're literally the worst thing to happen to comics since Stan Lee.

I've always preferred DC's characters. Marvel's real-world approach to superheroes does not appeal to me as much.
Why can't DC make campy comics work anymore?

Sometimes the things you like go out of fashion. Sometimes, they even become culturally anachronistic.

Actually the real problem is that they hired the worst writers from the 90's like Howard Mackie and putting 90's version predecessor to Didio-namely Bob Harras-in a position of power at DC. If DC had any sense they would have put Karen Berger in charge instead of the guy that ruined Reboot and Beast Wars.

Just a quick question, why do you hate it when a hero dies?

Especially given the fact that said hero is often brought back from the dead soon after.
