Really?
I knew he'd scored the most goals of anyone in the FA this season, but hadn't heard how he was doing compared with players from other leagues around the world.

Well Arsenal's hopes of a CL qualifying finish look done: Wilshere's done his ankle in with a stress fracture.
That's what happens when you overplay someone like him so much. It's just like with RVP.

There's a Benfica fan here isn't there?
Cardozo just trolled Bordeaux tonight. Every time they scored, Cardozo scored right from kick off. And he only played 20 minutes .

The Europa League games I watched tonight were awesome.

Spurs are so jammy, I really don't think the away goals rule should count in extra time.

Considering how intimidating the atmosphere can be in some stadiums I understand why they do it.
Can utterly screw teams that deserve it though...like Arsenal over these past 2 years who mounted impressive comebacks against Milan and now Bayern.
And congrats to Newcastle for beating Anzhi. Always good to watch those super rich teams get humbled.

Was this as bad in Bayern/Arsenal as it looked? Apparently this only got a yellow (not red) for Javi Martinez:

Grateful to Everton. They killed us last year but this season they hammered yet another nail into City's title hopes.

I don't think there's much question at this point about who's going to be Premier League champions this year.

Yeah, without really breaking a sweat. It's been a fairly poor season in the Premier League.

True, even the relegation fight isn't as interesting as it was last season. There's a six point gap between Sunderland and Aston Villa and the bottom three. At this time in the season it's not unassailable, but it's not going to be that easy for Wigan, Reading or QPR either.

I think the only league with more drama than the PL this year has been the Ligue. Till recently it was a big fight between Lyon, Marseille and PSG for the top spot. The Liga is the Barca show, Juve is killing the Serie A and Bayern is totally in control of the Bundesliga.
At the beginning we had massive defensive issues and could only win by outscoring even the weakest teams. Thankfully we got our act together and Vidic coming back also saved us big time. It wasn't until December United seemed to finally take control.
But 8 points clear with 4 games is still way too fresh in my mind...as confident as I want to feel that is still too raw a memory for me.

But City were clearly underachieving in many parts of last season until they turned it on at the end. This season, they simply don't look or feel like real contenders. There is a lot less drama than you're making out at the top.
The relegation battle is being sold short though. Considering games in hand, the entire bottom half of the table are in a legitimate relegation fight if Wigan win a few games, as they're ahead of Newcastle at the moment.

This is probably a tactic to leverage a better contract, but if it isn't I hope this will be the first domino in the City team to fall:
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... t-the-clubTevez looks like he's on his way out, maybe Aguero too if rumor is to be believed. Add Yaya to that and its a very ordinary team and there aren't that many people around to replace them. Yaya is the backbone of their midfield and leaving the job with Javi Garcia and the injury prone Rodwell leaves massive boots to fill.
