![]() Schadenfreude and other good news to melt the fanboys’ hearts. Source: GAIMAN RETURNS TO MARVEL, BRINGS "SPAWN'S" ANGELA CBR announced this morning that not only would Neil “Sandman” Gaiman return to Marvel comics this summer, and not only would he be collaborating with The Great One on Age Of Ultron #10, but he is also brining a little friend with him, Spawn’s Angela. That’s right, Gaiman won (half) the rights to his toys from industry douchnozzle, Todd McFarlane, a few years back, along with the rights to Marvelman/Miracleman (whatever), and will be brining his warrior angel to the House of Ideas. Why? Because why the hell not? What’s McFarlane gonna do, throw his worthless baseballs at him? All this means that Marvel has Gaiman, Marvelman/Miracleman, and yet another character that hasn’t been relevant in over 12 years. It doesn’t end there! Oh no! Gaiman whose name is guaranteed to make a book an automatic sellout is also joining with Bendis on Guardians Of The Galaxy. Now, I know what you are all thinking, and yes, that means that there is a chance for an Angela / Rocket Raccoon hook-up (although I think Rocket and Squirrel Girl would make a cuter couple.) So, this means we now know who the “special guest” is in Age OfUltron #10, why Joe Quesada really wanted to draw the final issue, and we get to watch as Bendis haters debate if they like Gaiman more than they loath the Great One. Good Times. Now, in about an hour we’ll probably get some news about another DC screw-up, but until then, let’s enjoy some good comic book news. You never know, but most of the books I get nowadays are Batman-family ones, and those tend to be safe. I think Worlds' Finest is next on the chopping block for me, though. It's pretty, but I'm kind of bored of watching it tread water. |
