Stephen King's Sequel to 'The Shining' gets an Interactive Cover

In a return to "balls-to-the-wall, keep-the-lights-on" horror, Stephen King is releasing a sequel to his hit horror novel "The Shining."

Doctor Sleep will focus on Dan Torrance, the boy in The Shining, when he is an adult and all new horrofic things are happening to him.

With Doctor Sleep, Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his previous novels, The Shining. The novel features the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the twelve-year-old girl, Abra Stone, that he must save from The True Knot. The True Knot are a group of almost immortal travelers who cross the country feeding off of children with the gift of "the shining." Dan drifted for decades in an attempt to escape his father's legacy, but eventually settled in a New Hampshire town and works in a nursing home, where his remnant mental abilities provide comfort to the dying. With the aid of a cat that can foresee the future, Dan becomes "Doctor Sleep." After meeting Abra Stone, an epic war between good and evil ensues

Stephen King can read the prologue to you if you wish:

So, a "sequel" that has nothing to do with the original... Except a child who has grown up. So, essentially, other than a single character name, it's not a real sequel.

Mr. King, didn't you and Peter Straub already do this book, as the "sequel" to the Talisman?

I grew up to the Shinning and what is this? :smt102

On Stephan. I don't understand this at all.
It sounds like they took this classic horror and decided to make it into a book about a cult that feeds on the "power" of the Shinning. And "Doctor Sleep" sounds like the worst super hero ever.

I still feel a little compelled to want to read this, but...
