Bioshock infinite

Postby eltopo » Thu Mar 28, 2013 6:12 am

I know we've talked about this a bit in the video game thread but this game is so massively awesome I figured it deserved it's own thread. I started playing last night and man oh man what a freaking game. I like the obvious nods to the first game right away but as soon as you get in the clouds ..wow Columbia looks F'ing incredible( I have it on pc set to ultra..boom) I must have spent 20 mins just walking around looking at stuff. The story so far has got me hooked, the mixture of American history and religion is very interesting oddly enough the polar opposite of the Rand-ness of the first game.I only played upto the point where I got the crow vital cuz it was late and my old ass had to goto bed .. So freaking good wish I was playing it now

who else is playing this freaking sure fire game of the year contender ?

Has this got anything to do with the other games? I still haven't played Bioshock 2

I played this game for a little bit yesterday. So far I've been very impressed. This game looks beautiful. The first time I stepped out into Columbia I just wanted to stand there and take it all in. I like the new setting and the story has me intrigued. I liked how the first hour had no combat and you could take your time listening to people's conversations, play games, listen to audio logs, watch propaganda videos, and search every nook and cranny for money. The combat is pretty much classic Bioshock with the grapple hook added in and your abilities now tied to the four pieces of clothing you are wearing.

I'm only a couple of hours in, but I like it so far. The scenery is the polar opposite of the original BioShock, but is equally stunning. I'm glad they reserve the first hour or so of the game for just taking in the sights. Combat is solid, and the vigors are fun. Story seems interesting.

yup I couldn't agree more I took my time in the beginning and just soaked up all of Columbia it was so breathtaking and pretty but you definitely could sense something dark just under the surface walking into the lottery (for lack of better term) and realizing that the crowd was about to basically stone a bi-racial couple was a big "oh shit" moment for me

On an unrelated note, I think the video game thread is awesome for upcoming news and trailers and shit, but I really like having a thread like this one once the game actually comes out.
