Actually, that sort of thing (like the serious articles Zechs and BlueStreak have written on DC's Toxic Characters bullcrap) have done extremely well. I honestly think there would be an audience for the occasional well written piece of editorial criticism, and Blue and I both remarked on your last piece that you are a good writer when not devoting your energy toward making obnxiously long retorts to others' posts.

Hell, maybe you and Amoebas could do an ongoing point - counter point type of thing, or you could have a rotating series of guests to debate with in a new version of Vs. We should discuss the possibilities.

A great idea that I'd regularly support. That said, I'd hate for it to be some sort of trade-off (i.e. stop posting in the forum).

That's what Jude is angling for in my case, at least.
I expect better of Zechs.

I wouldn't want Herald to stop posting.

Personally, and this is my personal opinion not in an official capacity or anything like that, I think he could stand to tone down the combative nature a little bit, and people would be more receptive to his ideas. But that's my personal opinion and I'm sure he'll have a 500 word reply to tell me why I'm wrong. :P

I mean, what is the endgame here? Is it to make any point about DC, really? I don't even remember what the original point was. Instead, it's about how Herald is right and everyone else is wrong, even in the case where I'm offering him a fucking front page column. How am I wrong about that?

I see no downside here. No quid pro quo? Come on, Herald...at least entertain the idea?

The stuff about "channeling my vitriol" into such blogs suggests otherwise...

Personally, and this is my personal opinion not in an official capacity or anything like that, I think he could stand to tone down the combative nature a little bit, and people would be more receptive to his ideas.

Hardly. They're not changing their minds any more than I'm changing mine, whether the words seem "combative" or not. And you know what?? That's fine. Just don't restrict my ability to say my piece any more than you would restrict yours.

But that's my personal opinion and I'm sure he'll have a 500 word reply to tell me why I'm wrong. :P

I'll keep it down to 250, tops. :P

If you'll recall, all I did in my first post was make a joke about one of Robinson's statements in this article. The issue wasn't going to go any further than that. It was Doombug that made a mountain out of that molehill, because I dared to taunt his BFF, Jimmy.

Instead, it's about how Herald is right and everyone else is wrong, even in the case where I'm offering him a fucking front page column. How am I wrong about that?

You're wrong that Herald even wants "a fucking front page column".
But THAT thought never occurred to you.

And frankly, this whole discussion only further puts me off the notion of doing all that work for you.
